CCPA/CPRA
Supplements our main Privacy Policy for residents of California and other U.S. states with similar rights.
1. Personal information we collect
Identifiers (name, email, phone); the family/genealogical information you provide, which may include SENSITIVE personal information (e.g., religious affiliation appearing in historical records) and information about living relatives; commercial information (your order); basic usage/analytics data. Collected from you directly + generated from public/historical sources.
2. Why we use it
To perform the research you ordered, deliver your chronicle, process payment, provide support, and comply with law.
3. We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your PI, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (CCPA/CPRA definitions). We do not use advertising cookies. Our website analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookie-free and does not use persistent identifiers to track you across sites.
4. Sensitive personal information
Used only to perform the research you requested and related permitted purposes — not to infer characteristics about you.
5. Your rights
Depending on your state: know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing (we do none), and limit use of sensitive PI. No discrimination for exercising rights.
6. How to exercise
Email support@europa-roots.org (subject "Privacy Request"); we verify identity first; authorized agents accepted.
7. Retention
Kept as long as needed for the service + legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.
8. Minors
Not directed to children under 16; we do not knowingly sell/share minors’ PI.
